Welcome back to Church! It has been a long time coming and we hope to make it as safe for everyone as possible.
A Committee has been struck to determine guidelines and plans for the reopening of Grace United Church. These plans are based on current knowledge with respect to the pandemic and may change as government guidelines change.
Self screen: if you have a fever, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, runny nose, not feeling well or have been in close contact with someone with confirmed Covid19 in the past 14 days, or if you have been out of the province in the last 14 days, please do not attend.
At present, the guidelines are as follows:
will resume September 6, 2020
there will be NO coffee hour
entry by the Sanctuary doors only; if the ramp is required ask a greeter to open the Community Hall door for you
use the hand sanitizer provided upon entry
masks are highly recommended. Please bring one or use one that is provided.
an usher will have a sign-in checklist to create a contact tracing list if needed later
a one-way counterclockwise route will be used for entry and exit within the sanctuary to allow distancing between members; going down the first aisle and across the front and coming up the far aisle.
pews will be marked; 30% of capacity can be presently used to ensure physical distancing; greet others - preferably with a bow or wave
hymn books, bibles and items in the pews have been removed
no singing; humming and responses will be be done quietly
there will be no choir singing. An appropriately distanced performer is an exception
no service bulletins will be provided but announcements will be on the the screen
washroom use will be restricted to the Grace Room washroom which can be accessed by the sanctuary entry door; any other washroom must be by usher accompaniment using the lift
offering plates will be at the back. Counters - wear gloves and bring your own pens
children will remain with parents - no Sunday School. A personal kit will be available for a child to take, use, and take with them
exiting will be through the doors nearest the manse. The pews nearest the piano go first, then the left centre bank, the right centre bank and lastly the pews nearest Chapman Street. The minister will not greet upon leaving
A “Memorandum of Understanding” must be signed by any group wishing to use the other facilities in the church. Contact the church office.
